Kahini Arte Merchant



Kahini Arte-Merchant was born in New Delhi, India on May 12,1960. She studied in India and England and graduated from the Sir J.J. School of Art in 1979.

She held her first solo show of paintings in 1988 at the Taj Art Gallery, Taj Mahal Palace and Towers, Mumbai.      The entire proceeds of this show went to the Helen Keller Institute for the Deaf and Deaf-Blind.

 Her current series of paintings (acrylics on canvas) in the series R.E.M., will be on view between 18-30 January, 2010 at Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai, after a long gap of five years.

She has participated in over 80 group shows in India and abroad, and has travelled extensively for artists workshops.

Her work has been auctioned by Christies, Bowrings and Larasati.

Her work is included in corporate and private collections in various cities in India, London, New York, Tanzania, Lagos, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The artist lives and works in Mumbai, India.
